When a person has multiple teeth in need of treatment Dr. Herbert may discuss with them a full mouth restoration. A full mouth restoration is a process of restoring or rebuilding multiple teeth or all of a person’s teeth. Dr. Herbert will work with his patients to determine what’s most important to them and what their goals are. Treatment will be provided in steps and will occur according to priority. Some of the procedures involved in a full-mouth restoration include:

Dr. Herbert and his team will thoroughly evaluate the patient’s mouth and take the necessary x-rays to provide the best treatment plan. The condition of the teeth, as well as the gums, is extremely important to the success of the full mouth restoration. The gums are the foundation for the teeth and must be healthy in order to achieve optimal results. Also, the patient’s pain or difficulties they may be experiencing will be an important factor in what treatment is placed as a priority.

When a patient decides on full-mouth restoration Dr. Herbert’s first step will be to alleviate discomfort and provide healthy gums. Sometimes deep cleaning treatment will be recommended before other treatment is started. Without healthy gum and bone tissue, restorations like bridges, crowns, and implants, can fail. This is why a healthy foundation is extremely important. Once the gums are healthy Dr. Herbert will formulate a plan to repair the damaged teeth and help the patient achieve the beautiful smile they have always wanted.
